Charities that I support . . .
So many SCAMS out there . . .
Before a moment of our time or a single $1.00
QUESTIONS WE ALL SHOULD ASK
Almost on a weekly basis I am asked to "Red-Carpet" charity events. I hate saying "NO" but I often do after I ask two questions:
Where do the charity donations go . . . to research scientists or laboratories . . . or to actual patients?
How much of each dollar raised actually reaches the patient?
As many of you might know, since my beloved brother, Harold, died of cancer in 2008 , I have have placed a high priority on the care and cure of cancer, by including standard oncology responses with alternative treatments, including appropriate nutrition (delicious organic cooking), along with sensible responses to the malignant process. I have a special place in my heart for all cancer patients, the babies, the mother's and father's, the older folk.
Next, are the Veterans that come back from far distant lands. Wounded physically and in emotional tatters. It is estimated that every 80 minutess, a combat veteran takes his or her own life. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder putting our Heroes into jails, divorce courts, and tearing families apart.
I give my support to these charities willingly and ask nothing in return, but often accept a pat-on-the-back from Heaven. Most often, rewards are paid in a currency that cannot be spent in any store and such currency is to be cherished.

NOW, WHY THEN THE QUESTIONS THAT WE ALL SHOULD ASK?
The media, and particularly CNN, have been digging away at the scams. From the "uniformed veteran" outside the shopping mall, claiming to collect for veterans, to the big-time New York scam that has collected $56 million in three years . . . AND NOT ONE CENT WENT TO A DISABLED VETERAN!
In my next postings I will add some "pages" on the charities that I do actively support. As promised . . .
